The Future of Manufacturing

In 2013, President Obama declared in his State of the Union Address that 3D-printing "has the potential to revolutionize the way we make almost everything." Five years before the President, I said the same thing from stages worldwide. Some twenty years before that, the prophet of nano-technology Dr. Eric Drexler forecast the coming of the 3D-printers and molecular assemblers, and the way they will transform society.

How will 3D-printers change society, then? How will they affect our daily lives, and disrupt the current economy?

This lecture is about the future of manufacturing, which is changing rapidly from a 'one factory' approach to a more democratized outview in which each individual is capable of innovating, creating, manufacuring and expressing his or herself in ways unthought of fifty years ago.
